2006 ROUGE Bash At Queen Elizabeth Plaza

I worked there yesterday. It was awesome... had so much fun :D here is the event press release: Vancouver, BC – ROUGE, Hollywood North’s Annual Summer Bash, will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza. In its fourth year, this annual film and TV industry benefit, is the peak of the exclusive Red Light Lounge series. The open-air party will begin at 8pm on the outdoor plaza. Complimentary champagne beverages will be served until 9pm and live music by reggae band Dubfreque and the DJ Betti Forde will keep the party going into the hot summer night. “We have rented the beautiful Plaza of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and will turn it into a private playground for the evening,” says event producer Rory Richards. Taking over a public space is no small production. ROUGE producers Richards and Chan have to bring in all resources from A – Z including independent power, water, honey wagons, fencing, and stages. As a result of the massively increased production, ticket prices for this year’s event are $40. “Yes, we are taking the ROUGE event, and the city, to another level,” Richards says. “We are not Montreal or Toronto; events like this don’t happen in Vancouver. To get 700 people outside at night for a private event where there is alcohol served and live music is impossible. We have worked very hard to facilitate this magical evening for our guests to experience. I can’t wait for the big night. ROUGE sells out each year so I would suggest purchasing tickets early. Also, due to liquor regulations, we cannot sell newly released tickets at the door.” The 2006 ROUGE beneficiary is the Greater Vancouver Media Association, a non-profit society committed to fostering cross pollination of ideas and relationships between different arms of the media, entertainment and communications industries. Past beneficiaries of ROUGE include the Performing Arts Lodge (PAL), the First Weekend Club, and Women in Film and Video. At each ROUGE, past Red Light Lounge hosts invite their circle of business people to attend the event, build relationships with others in the industry, and celebrate the successful milestones that have been achieved by BC filmmakers in the past year. The host line-up for ROUGE 2006 includes actress Joely Collins, MovieTelevision’s Terry David Mulligan, BC Film Commissioner Susan Croome, and Brightlight Pictures head, Steve Hegyes. Over 700 guests attended ROUGE in 2005 and more are expected this year.

    Flight 93

Just finished watching Flight 93. "It tells the stirring story of the brave passengers and crew aboard hijacked United Airlines' Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. After learning of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, these ordinary civilians chose to fight back against the terrorists. The courageous revolt ultimately led to the deadly crash in a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field, just 20 air minutes from Washington. The passengers' actions likely prevented the plane from being used as a guided missile to destroy the U.S. Capitol or the White House". Amazing movie.

    straight perm!

。呵呵。。

It was so nice there... we walked around for a while, then when we were sitting under the tree... we saw 2 dogs were playing around not far away from us ( there's so many dogs in the park today)... and then, all the sudden, that two dogs started to make out... one of the dog jummped on the other one... haha... it was so funny... the owner of the dogs pulled them away right after, but it was harilous!! haha...
